MARRIAGE AND ANNULMENT

The Sacrament of Marriage is a covenant by which a man and a woman establish in the presence of God and His Church a lifetime partnership, which by nature is ordered for the good of the spouses and the procreation of children. Married in the Orthodox Church

Please can you help with the following issue. Is it possible for a catholic christian man, who never married before, to get married in the Catholic church, to an orthodox christian woman who was however married in the orthodox church before but has got a divorce by the orthodox church?

Hello- We are in the same situation right now. And what I have been told is that any Non-Catholics must still pursue a Catholic annulment in order to marry you in the Catholic church. I don't understand why that is, but my fiance' is Greek Orthodox, has been married & annuled in the Greek church and the Catholic church still wants him to go through their / our annulment proceedings. I would get the paperwork as quickly as possible, as we have already set our wedding date and it is a challenge. You can however marry in their church. But in order for it to count as a Catholic sacrament she still needs the annulment - and then once that is complete it is a sacrament in both churches. However, they will still allow you to marry - just the Catholic church won't recognize it unless your annulment has taken place. We are likely marrying Greek Orthodox, and then will deal with the annulment after the wedding. Or you just goto a Catholic priest who doesn't ask questions or speak English :-) (Just throwing some light into the conversation)
